Pat Tierney is a Brisbane based singer songwriter whose style stems from a love of blues, folk and roots music.
His sound is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Pat has always been surrounded by different music genres, exposing him to a wealth of music, all of which have had a profound influence on the direction his musical journey has taken. His talent with a variety of musical instruments has only added to his appeal, and his unique sound finds an appreciative audience wherever he plays. Pat agrees that everything he listens to directs his musical development in some way. However, he notes artists such as Harry Manx, Sting and Ben Harper as his biggest influences.
Pat had his first release in 2009 with his debut EP, 'Friends & Lovers'. These songs came to life in late 2008 when Pat began to really concentrate on writing and recording his own songs. The past twelve months have been very busy for the young songwriter. Pat was chosen to perform at 'Acoustic in the Park', South Bank in Brisbane, he was asked to play the annual 'Bolivia to Blue Knob' fundraiser in Nimbin, and also had a song featured on Starving Kids Records summer compilation 'Have You Heard Volume 6' as well as recently receiving rave reviews in the annual Q Song awards where he received a highly commended for his track 'Come Inside'. Pat has established a strong following at his regular gigs In and around Brisbane and Is currently writing songs for a new EP to be released later In the year.
